Canberra Glassworks
Canberra Glassworks have a Discovery Tour -a behind the scenes tour of Canberra Glassworks where students can witness first-hand the beauty of molten glass from the furnace and see glass being cut. Discover what an old power house looks like and how it has been renovated into one of the world’s most state of the art glass facilities. On this tour students will have access to parts of the building the public don’t normally visit as well as have the opportunity to talk to the artists who use the centre. The Discovery Tour-See and Do begins with Discover Tour and then students cross the floor to become artists, learning how to cut and fuse glass while making a coloured, glass coaster of their own design. This is the best way to experience everything that the Glassworks has to offer as well as providing a lasting memory with their own creation and memento to keep. Tours can be tailored for students between K-12.
The Glass & Science Tour gives students an understanding of the scientific properties of glass.
